Formerly a very popular hotel in the village for both locals and visitors, Cliff Haven was a real Hive! There are so many stories about the parties that took place here and experiences from various people who visited the hotel…both good and wild! But all in all many of these individuals have keepsake memories.
When the opportunity came along for us to take over the hotel, several years now, my husband and I were very excited and had had a dream and a vision. Our Utmost aim and intentions were to try and get the property back to its original layout which back in the day was a family home for the local Doctor.

Despite the huge task that lay ahead, we decided to slowly start work on the hotel as it was in desperate need of a sympathetic refurbishment and tidying up in order for it to return to its glorious days. From cramped ensuite rooms, dormer and wooden framed windows, lath and plastered ceilings and walls, open fires in need of a lot of work and engineering to get them right, a large swimming pool and sauna all of which needed updating and the list goes on……. In the end, majority of the internal fixtures had to be gutted out.

Fast forward our dream home many many years later, and after losing count of the number of skips that visited the premises and the lovingly restoration work that was carried out through sacrifices, joy and sadness by the local builders, electricians and plumbers, this is the dream home that you are looking at…

I feel blessed, humbled and take pride in my achievement to date having managed to nearly replicate this tranquil dream home through the inspirational vision and ambition from my husband. Even though with such a large property there is always something that needs working on.
